Dealing with Groundwater at Building Site  

The new residential complex at Kiryat Motzkin extends over an approx. 35,000 sq.m. area and includes 2 towers of 27 storeys each with 226 housing units and an underground car park over an area of about 5,100 sq.m.

The area upon which the towers have been erected is characterised by a relatively high water table, dictating more detailed planning of the underground works. As part of the operations, a groundwater pumping system was installed with a waterproofing system supported by crystalline concrete, which together constituted an effective solution for the water table issue. Furthermore, in order to meet schedules, in the course of the frame erection operations two turret cranes were set up on the building site and a semi-static pump for each building.  

Throughout all stages of construction, Ashtrom paid attention to building safety, meticulous logistic planning and tight quality control - starting from the stage of providing the infrastructure and casting the frame for all the buildings, via planning and logistics, up to the installation of electromechanical systems in each apartment, finishing works and dealing with the surrounding green areas.
